Top end gasket kits or decode kits which they are sometimes referred to contain all the neccesary gaskets to carry out repairs to the top end or when removing the cylinder heads on VM automotive, industrial and marine engines, both air and watercooled versions. Valve stem seals and other gaskets are usually included.
In some cases the piston protrusion figures are required so the correct thickness of head gasket can be supplied but there is also the option of universal cylinder head gaskets for certain models removing the need to check the piston protrusion.
